  • The first details of Bethesda and Arkane’s new game are known. Blade release date is not determined

Blade is a new project from Arkane Lyon, creators of Deathloop and Dishonored series. It is a single-player game with a third-person view. The developers plan to create an original story with a rich narrative and exciting gameplay.

Bill Rosemann, vice president and creative director of Marvel Games, said:

“To celebrate Blade’s 50th anniversary, we found the perfect partner in Arkane Lyon, a studio of uncompromising artists who are constantly pushing the boundaries of game design and innovation.” In addition to their award-winning talent, their personal passion and bold vision for our iconoclastic half-human half-vampire make this the perfect collaboration.”

Marvel’s Blade transports players to a quarantined part of Paris – the city is terrorised by vampires who force residents to go into hiding at nightfall and eagerly await the sunrise. The vampire hunter will not have it easy.

Sébastien Mitton, co-founder and artistic director of Arkane Lyon, said:

“From his coat to his iconic sunglasses, Blade is an elegant, stylish and determined character. This project is the perfect opportunity to take Arkane’s artistic style into even more modern and bold territory. The essence of our work is the combination of influential ideas and innovative know-how.”

No specifics yet on a release date or platforms (PC and Xbox exclusivity?) on which to expect Blade. But the mention of “beginning work on the game” suggests that release is still a long way off.
