Work on the Gothic remake is boiling over. One of those involved in the creation of Gothic Remake told about what we can expect from the project
Kai Rosenkranz, who wrote the soundtrack for the Gothic games, is working on a remake of Gothic. He shared new details about the project.
In Gothic Remake the world of the game will be expanded by about 10-20%, it will become more alive.
NPCs will get unique faces, the developers do not want to have a deja vu effect when communicating. Gate21, one of THQ Nordic studios, is responsible for creating faces.
The combat system will be complicated, but it will not go far from the original Gothic.
Consider the possibility of influencing the player’s decisions in the first chapter on what happens in Gothic Remake. For example, so that the choice of guild plays a more important role in the later part of the game.
The plot of the original Gothic in the remake will be adjusted to match Gothic 3. The plan is to maximise the cohesiveness of the narrative.
One of the creators of Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos (fan project) joined to work on Gothic Remake. Perhaps, some elements of the lore will be transferred to the Gothic Remake.
The interface should be minimalistic, like in the original. However, some elements, such as inventory, will be more intuitive.
It is possible that cut mechanics will return. For example, ore mining or arrow crafting.
Gothic Remake has no release date yet.
